The ‘Majnoun’ VA release features 7 artists from Iran. People in Iran have been sanctioned for many years now (no bandcamp, no access to platforms to upload tracks and sell). All music in Iran must be approved by the Ministry of the Culture and Islamic Guidance. Typically authorised releases are limited to traditional Iranian folk, classical music and pop. Our release gives these Iranian artists access to an audience beyond borders and the ability to sell and profit off their tracks. The release showcases experimental, industrial and groove techno as well as DnB. The producers made the tracks completely from scratch - no samples.
